I have to confess that when someone speaks of pastel colors, the image that come into to my mind is of some sort of 1980's nightmare. But thankfully as years gone by (and a lot of color therapy later) I can now speak of pastels as if nothing ever happened. These colors are quickly making a comeback and for me, ready or not, is an opportunity to taste the waters (or should I say the candies!).
So in order to prepare myself for what was coming, I went into my nearest supermarket (yes, you read correctly) to look for some sort of sweet inspiration that might help me in my quest of pastels. After grabbing lots of goodies, I arranged them trying to look for the colors that really stand out. As you can see this mess ended up in a selection of four color groups: "Less than Tweety yellows", "Minty Wasabi greens", "Cotton Candy pinks" and "Easter Bunny blues and purples" (All fake names!).

For the "Less than Tweety yellows" we have from Glidden: Buttercup, Buttered Sweet Corn and Fresh Pineapple.  On the "Minty Wasabi greens" group there are Lime Sorbet and Spring Leaf also from Glidden  On the "Cotton Candy pinks" are Peony from Martha Stewart and from Glidden Sugar Pansy Pink and Pink Carnation. Last but not least the "Easter Bunny blues and purples" with Lagoon from Martha Stewart and from Glidden True Turquoise, Sugared Plum and Lavender Phlox.

And if still you don't have a clue of where to use these colors, I leave you with some ideas on how to incorporate them on the interiors.

On the interiors a bit of pastels here and there can never hurt anyone. As you'll see by these photos, you can incorporate chairs with sublime candy colors. The trick here is to use these types of colors on statement pieces such as the Egg chair on the photo at the left or the pink Windsor style chairs on the right.

A mix of candy colors on the walls can make any room turned from bland to WOW! On the outside, although a little risky, the coral of the wall and the aqua of the door are just amazing.
